Finding Out

I was spending my daily Bible-reading time Image result for clip art girl reading biblewhen a question arose in my mind.  I thought, "I wish I could just SIT DOWN with God, face-to-face, and get a direct answer so I would KNOW the absolute, final TRUTH about this."

Duh.  That is called "prayer."

I mean, while we are on earth, prayer is our opportunity to, essentially, sit face-to-face with God and have a conversation.

So I started voicing to God my questions.

"Lord," I said, "maybe You keep some things close to the vest so that we will learn more and more as we seek answers.  Because You know EVERYTHING, and how it all will pan out in time.  I just really want to understand what's up with [topic of my curiosity] and what Your true plan is."

As I was talking, the thought came to mind that, one day, we will understand all things and everything will be revealed to us.  I had a niggling that there was a scripture somewhere that said just that.

And boy I tell you, answers started leaping off the screen of this laptop and piling up in front of me.  So I thought it would be a great idea to put my findings in a blog and share them with all of you!!  And so, I present, what I believe God had to say to me TODAY.  I hope you also find answers to questions that have been on your mind, as well.

I Corinthians 13:12 - "For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known."

Luke 12:2 - "The time is coming when everything that is covered up will be revealed, and all that is secret will be made known to all."

(JESUS Himself said this!  In context of when He said this and to whom He was speaking, He was talking about the secrets of hypocrites being revealed, like everybody having to lay out their cards on the table - but I believe these words can be applied also to things we long to know from God.  Because He did say ALL things...)

Deuteronomy 29:29 - "The LORD our God has secrets known to no one. We are not accountable for them, but we and our children are accountable forever for all that he has revealed to us, so that we may obey all the terms of these instructions."

Acts 1:7 - "Jesus replied, 'It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by His own authority'."

Proverbs 3:5 - "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."

(In other words, YES there is more to know - but don't base your strength on what you already know; trust GOD to be your strength, who knows EVERYTHING ALREADY, and who will share things with us when the time is right.  Don't be impatient; trust that God has a clear reason for how everything is timed and scheduled in God's plan.  (See above, Acts 1:7!)

Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope."

And, last in this list... Isaiah 40:31 - "But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint."

SO, my friends, keep asking... keep seeking... keep trusting... and keep moving forward!  Because God knows the answer to every question, and loves you, loves you, loves you.  I submit to you that God never tires of our questions; rather, God WELCOMES them and delights in our desire to know more about God's ways and God's plan.
